Calabra Maceri biogas Plant
Calabra Maceri e servizi S.p.A. the new biogas plant, produces an upgraded biomethane for motor vehicles consumption, which is injected into the national gas grid of SNAM since 28th August 2018, when it became the first plant in Italy to actively produce biomethane for vehicles fuel.
We have optimized the treatment of organic waste, upgrading our composting plant to extract biomethane through a dry technology anaerobic bio-digester (dry), dedicated to vehicle fuels.
The plant processes organic waste from urban separated waste
collection (FORSU) which is mechanically pretreated to allow
microplastics removal and crush it and grind it without added water,preparing it for the anaerobic digestion process.
